Easter in Cumbria

For the easter weekend I decided to take the bike out for it's first long run of the summer. The weather forecast was good for the whole weekend, and although it was a long journey, we had a really good time.

The roads around Cumbria and Yorkshire were fantastic on the bike, and I had great fun riding. Sam enjoyed the trip from the pillion seat too - and was able to take in the scenery of the lakes, although if she had blinked she would have missed it!

We travelled to Whitehaven for 2 nights and then rode on to Doncaster to stay with Sams Dad. The trip through the Yorkshire dales was most memorable - The A65 is a famous route for bikers and the Devils Bridge at Kirkby Stephen provided a good place to stretch our legs along with 100's of other bikers on their Sunday ride outs.

Alpe d'Huez - A week in the snow!

We took our annual trip to the snow this year, yet again to France, to Alpe d'Huez.

It was a bit of a gamble with the snow conditions being very ropey at the start of the year, but 3 weeks ago we took the plunge and booked the trip.

The snow turned out to be fantastic, and we had a great week.
